Welcome to TCR Racing

Tyler Rodgers is a 6 year old racer from Chico, California. Tyler is a first grader at Shasta Elementary. He is a very outgoing and busy kid. Karate, soccer, T-ball, racing, quad riding, and just being a six year old are enough to keep anyone busy. Tyler loves going to the races a Silver Dollar Speedway. Besides sprint cars he also likes monster trucks, Nascar racing, and drag boats. He started his career at Red Bluff in October 2007 at the age of 5. He started in the Beginner Box Class. About seven races into the season Tyler was ready for a newer kart. Once he was in the new kart he really took off. He learned a lot and grew a lot as a racer as the season went on. The last race of the season he made his First “A” main. He finished 8th out of 12 karts. It was a great accomplishment for a young driver. When the dust settled on the first season Tyler finished 21st in points.

When Red Bluff was over Tyler decided to try T-ball out. He could really hit the ball and the coaches couldn’t wait until next season when he will play Farm Ball.

Before T-ball was over Tyler started racing at Cycleland Speedway. Tyler wasn’t too sure when he saw the size of the track after racing on the much smaller Red Bluff track. He caught on quickly and was up front in no time. He really had a lot of fun because of the friends he made at Red Bluff who were also racing at Cycleland. Tyler finished the season with two wins, two seconds, four thirds, and several other top five finishes. We finished Cycleland with the Awards night and some racing, Tyler started in the middle of the pack third row outside. A few laps into the race a kart stalled on the back stretch. The caution did not come out in a timely manner and another kart moved up the track to avoid the stalled kart in doing so it hit Tyler putting him into the back stretch wall. Tyler’s kart spun 180degrees and almost flipped over. When his kart came to a stop he started around the track. The left rear tire was flat. The officials were sorting out the mess and Tyler headed for the pits. With the help of the Rossi’s we changed the tire. Tyler returned to the track as the green was about to fly. He was in eleventh place as he took the green. After some hard racing and a few karts dropping out the checkered flag flew. Tyler finished third for a great finish to his first full year of racing.

Tyler is now playing soccer for his first year. We can’t wait to see what the future holds. Check out the News page for the latest info.
